A celebration of life will be held Sunday October 4 at 4 PM for Randolph A. "Randy" Polder who passed away Thursday evening at his home with his family at his side. Randy was born September 13, 1943 in Youngstown the son of Henry and Edna (Gramelt) Polder and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Liberty High School class of 1961 and a graduate of ITT Technical School in Drafting. Randy retired in 2002 for Linde Hydraulics where he was a Mechanical Draftsman. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a member of the Youngstown Saxon Club, where he served as the recording secretary for many years in the 80's. Randy's hobbies included bowling, golfing, and bocci. He was also an avid card player. Randy leaves his wife of 51 years the former Linda Schissler, whom he married February 28, 1964, two daughters, Robin (Roger) Fotiuk of Boardman, and Stacie (Jerry) Walton of Austintown. Randy also leaves one sister Janice Ferry of Liberty as well as five grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, Justin, Meagan, and Sara, and one great granddaughter, Sophia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 2 to 4 PM Sunday at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel where a military service honoring Randy's service to our country will be held at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street Youngstown, Ohio 44512, in Randy's name.
