Ray Darlington Parks

Graveside services will be held at a later date for Ray Darlington Parks, 85, of Beaver Twp. Ohio who passed away Monday at his home. Ray was born January 3, 1925 in Youngstown the son of Orien S. and Mabel (Miller) Parks and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a glazer with Pittsburgh Plate Glass / Youngstown Mirror and Glass for a total of 33 years, retiring in 1984. Ray was an Army Veteran serving with the 143rd Anti Aircraft Gun Battalion. He liked to spend his winters in Florida. Ray was a member of the VFW Post in New Springfield, and a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge in Florida. His wife the former Margaret Elizabeth “Betty” Brink, whom he married October 5, 1973, passed away December 30 1997. Ray leaves two step daughters; Dianne Mauerman and Carole Yargo both of Austintown, four step grandchildren; Gordon, Scott, Bill, and Cindi, 20 step great grandchildren, and 5 step great-great grandchildren. Ray also leaves three nephews; Gary, Rick and Dave Parks, and one niece Georgeann Mortimer. Beside his wife Betty and his parents, Ray is preceded in death by two brothers; Orien Lamont “Monte” Parks and George Loraine Parks and one niece Sharon Parks. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
