Services will be held 11 AM Saturday at Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Raymond E. Allison, 80, of Canfield who passed away Saturday March 26, 2011 at his home. Ray was born September 23, 1930 in Salem the son of Glenn and Elizabeth (McCann) Allison. He was a graduate of Leetonia High School and was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Ray retired from General Motors after 19 years of service, were he was tool and die maker. Ray also worked at United Tool and Die as a tool and die maker for 21 years prior to his working for GM. He was a member of Canfield Presbyterian Church, a member of the Korean War Veterans of Youngstown and a member of the VFW Post in Ellsworth. Ray leaves his wife, the former Barbara Kindel whom he married October 18, 1952, two sons; Richard L. (Donna) Allison of North Jackson, and Donald R. (Debbie) Allison of Canfield, seven grandchildren; Becky, Dale, John, Nick, Donnie, David, and Dino, and one great grandchild; Ethan. Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by two sons; Michael and Robert, three brothers; Bill, George, and Glenn, and one sister; Betty Hickman. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Friday and again from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Tri County Autism Association in Ray’s name.
