Raymond E. Perkins, Sr., age 83, of Bristolville, Ohio, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at 9:15 AM at his residence. He was born on June 29, 1924 in Bristolville, Ohio, the son of the late Clyde Perkins and the late Lucille (Leatherberry) Perkins. Mr. Perkins retired in 1983 from Grinnell Manufacturing where he had worked as a tow motor operator. He was a member of Bristolville Church of the Brethren and served in the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Robertson of Ft. Worth, TX. Four sons, Raymond Perkins Jr. of Champion, Ronald Perkins of Bristolville, Richard Perkins of Mecca and Roger Perkins of Bristolville. Five Sisters, Gladys Gonzalaz of Phoenix, Arizona, Mildred Mathews of Diamondhead, Mississippi, Carolyn Marino of Bristolville, Nadine Greening of Niles and Dorothy Tenney of Warren. One Brother, Clyde R. Perkins of Manassa Park, Va. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by three wives, June L. (Armstrong) Perkins, Charlotte R. (Moore) Perkins and Cheryl A.(Soulier) Perkins. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Alice Shively. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, 164 North High Street, Cortland, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 6PM -8PM on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007, at 11 AM at the Bristolville Church of the Bretheren, 6400 Thompson Clark Rd. N.W., Bristolville, Ohio. Interment will be at Braceville Twp. Cemetery.
