Raymond P. "Ray" Stiger, 88, of Austintown, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at Briarfield Manor. He was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Fremont, OH the son of Clyde and May Marsella (Shedenhelm) Stiger. Ray was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII and again after his graduation from Ohio State University in 1949. He retired from General Motors as the Director of Engineering in March of 1986. Ray enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Masons, Shiners and Scottish Rite. He will be dearly missed by two sons; Ted (Karen) Stiger, of Ossineke, MI, and Tom (Kathy) Stiger, of Pawcatuck, CT, two daughters; Denise Stiger, of Lake Milton and Michele (Jeff) Reeder, of Champion, and eight grandchildren; Theodore, Andrew, Jake, Joey, Sam, Margaret, Aaron and Mariah. Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife V. Louise Stiger, who passed away Feb. 29, 2012, a daughter Cherie McCulley, a sister Ruth Fincher and two brothers Clyde and Carl Stiger. According to Ray's wishes he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley in Ray's name.
