Rejena Fithian

December 20, 1929 — December 5, 2010

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 4:00 PM at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Rejena "Jean" Fithian of Canfield who passed away on Sunday December 5th at Assumption Village. My Mom was born December 20, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the only child of Roy and Pearl (Allman) McKinney. She was member of the Old North Church in Canfield. Graduating from South High School in Youngstown, she received her degree in Law Enforcement Administration in 1976 from Youngstown State University. Mom was a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star of New Castle, Pa. She was a member of the Canfield Republican Women's Club and loved going out with the Royale Flames chapter of the Red Hat Society. Over the years she belonged to numerous antique car clubs in the area and in Phoenix, Arizona. Mom previously was the membership chairman for the Rolls Royce Owners Club of Northeast Ohio and worked at the Stan Hywet Gardens in Akron every year for their Father's Day Car Show. My Mom loved all the holidays especially Christmas. And for those who knew her, she also thought that her Birthday was holiday and should be celebrated like one. My Mom spent years collecting bunnies. After living in Fountain Hills Arizona for 17 years she made numerous trips back to the West to see her friends. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed discovering new places with her friend Carolyn May of Mesa, Arizona. My Mom is survived by only one child Heather Davis of Canfield. She also leaves a niece Gleanna Jean (Don) Currier of Louisville, Kentucky. Also her great niece Wendy (Bruce) Grimes and great nephew Eric (Yulissa) Currier and their children. But one of her greatest joys were spending time with Cassie and Preston Stitt. They were the grandchildren she never had and she was like a "Bonus" Grandma to them. She loved them so much. And a heartfelt thanks to Jane and Tom Scott of New Middletown who always visited with Mom and special blessing to Tom who was with my Mom when she passed away. There is no one with a bigger heart than you Tom. We love you. She was preceded in death by Bob Fithian in 2004 and her beloved dog Bailey who will be buried with her. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Wilbert Endowment Fund Foundation, a non-profit organization providing grants and resources to help children cope with the trauma of grief and death at P.O. Box 147 Forest Park, IL 60130.. Mom will be laid to rest on Monday, December 13th at Canfield East Cemetery surrounded by loved ones. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 PM on Sunday, at the Lane Funeral Home in Canfield on the green.
