Richard B. Pherson

Richard B. “Dick” Pherson of Masury, OH died at 10:43 AM Saturday at his residence. He was 77. Mr. Pherson was born in Logansport, IN on Oct. 1, 1927, a son of Edwin and Frances Fitzer Pherson. He was a graduate of Riley High School in South Bend, IN. Dick also graduated from Purdue University in 1949 with a degree in electrical engineering. Richard served in the United States Army. Mr. Pherson was employed for over 36 years at Westinghouse Electric. He was a manager in the engineering department. Dick started out at the Westinghouse Plant in Sharon, PA but went on to Geneva, Switzerland, Sunnyvale, CA, and finally retired from the Pittsburgh, PA Plant in1985. Richard was a member of Brookfield United Methodist Church and the Senior Bowling Leagues at Sunset and Sharpsville Lanes. Survivors include: his wife Evelyn Trembush Pherson, whom he married June 19, 1954; 2 sons, James Pherson and his wife Karen of Colorado Springs, CO, and Thomas Pherson and his wife Patty of Erie, PA; 1 sister, Patricia and her husband Wayne Barden of Elkhart, IN; 5 grandchildren, Dan, Christina, Andrea, Tanya, and Arman Pherson; Also survived by 3 nieces and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 1 brother Eddie J. Pherson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, with Rev. Dennis Bewley of the Brookfield United Methodist Church. Calling hours will be from 4-6 PM Tuesday. Burial will be in Brookfield Twp. Cemetery.
