CanfieldServices will be held 11am Tuesday at the Bridge of Hope Church for Richard Baltes who passed away Wednesday evening. The son of Thomas and Dorothy (Scarrazzo) Baltes, Richard was born October 9, 1947 in Youngstown. A graduate of Chaney High School he joined the United States Army in 1966. On November 21, 1981 Richard married his wife Joanne, with whom he spent 30 wonderful years of marriage. Richard was a chef by trade and worked at Mr. Anthony's until his retirement in May of 2011. Richard had a passionate love for the Lord, prayer and his family. He enjoyed cooking and working in his yard. He was also very fond of music, especially Motown and in particular The Temptations. Richard is survived by his wife Joanne (Bellanca) Baltes, his mother Dorothy Baltes, and three children Rick (Beth) Baltes of Roxboro NC, Lisa (John) Centofanti, and Jennifer (Travis) Perry of Raleigh NC. Also surviving Richard are four grandchildren Victoria Centofanti, Gianna Centofanti, Owen Baltes, and Ryan Baltes as well as three siblings Thomas (Rachael) Baltes, Colleen (Henry) Wasilchak and Laurie (Rick) Scofinsky. He is preceded in death by his father Thomas Baltes. Friends and family may call from 5-8pm Monday and 10-11am Tuesday at the Bridge of Hope Church at 7580 Glenwood Ave in Boardman.In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in Richards name to Hospice of the Valley c/o Hospice House 5190 Market St. Youngstown OH. 44512. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
