Richard Cramer

Services will be 11:30 AM Monday in St. Christine Church for Richard Cramer, 71 of Youngstown who passed away Friday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Medical Center Austintown Campus. Dick was born July 26, 1934 in Youngstown the son of Albert Joseph and Elizabeth (O’Hara) Cramer. He retired in 1997 as a Millwright from Penn-Ohio Towel Supply (Initial Corp.). Dick was a member of St. Edwards Church and was attending St. Christine Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and spent his life dedicated to the care of his daughter Susan. Dick was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. in the 2nd Marine Division Artillery 105 Houser group, were he played 3rd base for the base team at Camp LeJuene. He was an avid baseball player of both softball and hardball in several local leagues. He was very patriotic, proud of his Irish heritage and an avid Notre Dame fan. He always enjoyed life and had a wonderful sense of humor. Dick leaves his wife of 50 years, the former Ruth Caldwell, whom he married June 29, 1956, two sons; R. Michael (Julie) Cramer of Pearland TX, and Jim (Kelli) Cramer of Thornville OH, two daughters; Susan Cramer at home and Nancy Cramer-Sebastian of Spring TX. He also leaves seven grandchildren; Shaun, Christopher and Laura Cramer of Pearland, Mark and Melanie Sebastian of Spring, Ellis and Emma Cramer of Thornville, one great-granddaughter; Trista Burton-Cramer, one brother Leonard Cramer of Austintown and two sisters; Patricia Smith of Hubbard and Edna Melliger of Palmdale CA., and his faithful dog and companion Luke. Dick also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Dick is preceded in death by six brothers; Albert, William, John, Jerry, Pete, and Robert Cramer and three sisters; Elaine Hauptman, Evelyn Flick, Elva Mills. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Today at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
