AUSTINTOWN-Memorial services will be held at 5 PM Friday, January 27, 2006 with the Dr. Chris Jarrett officiating in Old North Church for Richard Earl Handorf, of Westchester Dr., who passed away peacefully with his family by his side at 6:15 am Monday at the home of his daughter. Richard was 62. Richard was born on April 22, 1943 in Royal Oak, Michigan and was the son of Harry and Elva (Burgeson) Handorf and moved to the Youngstown area 4 years ago. Richard retired in 1992 from DeSantis Trucking in Michigan where he was a truck driver for 20 years. Richard attended Highway Tabernacle Church and was an avid bowler, having bowled in several leagues in Canfield and Boardman. Richard was in a high series league in Michigan, where he rolled several 300 games. Richard was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan and enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his grandchildren. Richard is survived by his children Richard Handorf of Missouri, David Handorf of Arkansas, Ronald Handorf of Michigan, Cathy (Steve) Kristan of Canfield, and Lisa (Corey) Jaynes of Michigan; his siblings Peggy Stringer of Michigan, Carol Delcarson of Florida, Robert Handorf of Michigan, Sharon Solomotis of Pennsylvania, and Larry Handorf of Michigan; and eight grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Inurnment will take place in Canfield East Cemetery in Canfield at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Richard’s memory to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St, Youngstown, OH 44512. A caring cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
