Vienna Richard K. Eichenberg ., 92, passed away Thursday evening, May 12, 2016 at The Weils of Bainbridge Rehabilitation Centre in Chagrin Falls, OH. Richard was born in February 22, 1924 in Cleveland, OH a son of the late Kent Eichenberg and Christine (Knapp) Eichenberg. He was a 1942 graduate of West Technical High School in Cleveland, OH. After High School he joined the United States Air Force to proudly serve his country for three years during World War II. After his honorable discharge in 1946 he married the love of his life, Esther (Vekas) Eichenberg on October 4, 1947 and shared nearly 65 years together. He found employment at Midland Ross Corporation in Cleveland for 32 years until he retired at their Sharon, PA office. He was a member of the Queen of Holy Rosary in Vienna, OH, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. Richard will be deeply missed by his two children, Richard J. Eichenberg and his wife Ute and Debora Ferguson and her husband Dennis of ; two granddaughters Erin DeJong and her husband Roger and Amy Eichenberg and her husband Adam MacGregor; grandson Joel; his great-granddaughter Ellie. He will also be missed by his brother-in-law Paul Vekas, former daughter-in-law Mary Eichenberg, and former granddaughter-in-law Brenda Ferguson Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Esther (Vekas) Eichenberg; who passed away on June 28, 2012; and his two brothers James and Russell Eichenberg. A memorial service for Richard will be held at a later date and he will be buried with his wife at Arlington National Cemetery.
