Richard L. "Dick" Getz, age72, of Lordstown passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016. Born March 5, 1944 in Warren, he was the son of Joseph and Ruth (Messersmith) Getz. Dick retired from Packard Electric after 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Lordstown Christian Church where he served as both a deacon and a trustee over the years. He was a member of the YBMW Club; he loved riding, working on, or anything else to do with motorcycles. He was avid Cleveland Indians fan. Dick was a kind, caring, and compassionate person who was deeply loved by his family and friends. Survivors include his son Stan (Cori) Getz of San Diego, CA.; grand-daughters Charlotte and Breana; a sister Loretta (Joe) Kovach of Lake Milton, two brothers Ray (Linda) Getz of MacDonald and Larry (Betty) Getz of Burnsville, NC.; and an aunt, Betty Smith of Hartford, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lordstown Christian Church, 6370 Tod Ave. SW, Warren, Ohio 44481 on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:00AM; where friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
