Richard M. Young

There will be a funeral service at 1:30 PM Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Richard M. Young of Canfield who passed away Sunday morning at the Hospice House. Richard was born December 6, 1933 in Youngtown a son of the late H. Stanley and Ethel (Miller) Young. He was a self employed carpenter, a member of NRA, a former member of Old North Church, and had served in the United States Navy. His wife the former Barbara Anne “Bobbi” Carlson, whom he married February 14, 1985, passed away June 26, 2002. Richard is survived by three children: Sharyn (John R) Hallden Jr. of Powell, Gary (Carolyn Sumners) Young of Houston, TX, and April (Mark) Herbster of Columbus; one sister Nancy Pittman of Venice, FL; one brother Doyle Young of San Jose, CA; three grandchildren: Scott Young, Hannah Herbster, and Andrew Herbster; and four step children: Karin Craft, Kathleen Cranston, Edward R. O’Neil, Jr., and Colleen Robinson. Beside his parents, Richard is preceded in death by two brothers Paul Young and Stanley Young, and a sister Anita Heineman. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
