Richard Thiomas

Richard W. Thomas Sr., 83 of Cortland passed away at 1:15am Wednesday April 22, 2009 at Concord of Hartford. Richard was born in Warren on August 26, 1925, the son of the late Oliver ”Lincoln” Thomas and Rachel Thomas. A lifetime area resident, Richard graduated from Harding High School. He retired in June of 1981 from the Warren City Fire Department as a firefighter. He married his wife, the former Margaret M. Bross on February 17, 1945. Together they shared 64 years of marriage. Richard is survived by his wife Margaret; his four children Richard W. (Elaine) of Warren, David L. (Susan) of Bazetta, Dan W. (Sheryl) of Oxford, Michigan, and Martin J. (Susan) Thomas of Cortland; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister Nora Fisher. Private services have been held. Pastor Paul Leone officiated.
