Richard W. Watkins, Jr.

CHARDON: Richard W. Watkins, Jr., age 60 of Chardon, formerly of Mineral Ridge, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Heather Hill Care Communities, Chardon, Ohio. Richard was born on December 25, 1953 in Warren, Ohio to parents; Richard W. and Margaret Jean (English) Watkins. Richard graduated from Mineral Ridge High School in 1971. He attended Youngstown State University, graduating in 1977 with a Bachelor Degree in Science. Richard married Barbara Adorjan on November 20, 1982. He worked for Rockwell and Philips, Inc., as a Software Engineer, retiring in April 2013. Richard was a member of the Planetary Society, and an amateur astronomer. Richard is survived by his wife; Barbara, parents; Richard and Margaret Watkins, Mineral Ridge, brothers; David (Coralie) Watkins, South Carolina, William (Laurie) Watkins, Florida, sisters; Susan (David) Claypool, Niles, Linda (Charles) Mooney, McDonald, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Richard in death are his grandparents. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm, and Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 10:00 am-11:00 am at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at the funeral Home.
