Rita M. Eddy

CORTLAND- Rita Marstella Eddy, age 80, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at her residence. Rita was born June 4, 1937 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Ralph Boyes and Carolyn Mason. Rita retired from Kauffman's Department Store after several happy years there. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, where she had been a Eucharistic Minister and enjoyed helping with the Friday Fish Dinners for many years. Rita and her husband also enjoyed going to casinos whenever possible. Besides her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Ann Eddy. Rita will be missed by her husband Wayne K. Eddy, whom she married July 16, 1955; her beloved children, Ken (Beverly) Eddy, Donna Killing, Patricia (Joe) Johnson, Elizabeth (Paul) Bowling, and Jacqueline (Brad) Burt; 16 Grandchildren, 23 Great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call 11-12PM Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Lane Funeral Home, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St. in Cortland, where the funeral service will be celebrated at Noon by Fr. Frank Zanni.
