Rita M. (Vadala) George

Rita M. (Vadala) George, 61, of Masury, OH, passed away early Saturday morning September 25, 2010 at Sharon Regional Hospital. Mrs. George was born on July 9, 1949 in Sharon, PA a daughter of Theodore and Mary (Vendemia) Vadala. She was a 1967 graduate of Sharpsville High School and went on to graduate from Penn State in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in education. Rita lived in Texas for several years where she worked with accounting, upon her return to the area she had most recently worked at the Penn-Ohio Drug Store in Masury. Rita was an avid reader and had taught quilting classes. She was well known for her sewing ability by the many purses, wall hangings, table runners, and quilts that she crafted over the years. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Ronnie R. George whom she married on August 30, 1985; her step-daughter Rosie Lopez and her husband Andre of Dover, DL; step-grandchildren Hector, Rhianna, and Reese; her sister Shirley Vojtko and her husband Mike of Brookfield, OH; and by her nephew Dan Vojtko of Ravenna, OH, and her niece Maria Vojtko of Brookfield, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends on Tuesday September 28, 2010 from 4-7 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel in Brookfield, OH. Rev. Frank Zanni will begin closing prayers at 9:15 AM on Wednesday September 29, 2010 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will begin at 10:00 AM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Masury, Ohio. Burial will follow at the Brookfield Township Cemetery.
