Robert A. "Duke" Bell

Austintown- Funeral services will be held at 12:30PM Saturday for Robert A. Bell of Austintown who passed away early Monday morning in Briarfield Manor Nursing Home. He was born September 20, 1929 in Beaver Falls, PA, the son of the late Moses and Mary (Meyers) Belle. He was a 1947 graduate of Beaver Falls High School. He was also a longtime member of Wickliffe Christian Church where he was a past Deacon and choir member. He retired from General Motors in 1993 after 28 years in the maintenance department, and he previously worked for Coppers Chemicals in Kabota, PA. Bob was an avid bowler and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His wife, the former Rosella Reich, whom he married July 19, 1949, preceded him in death in August 1999. He is survived by three children: Marla J. Bell of Austintown, Lee A. (Jan) Bell of Austintown, and Curtis R. (Anita) Bell of Cortland. He also leaves a sister, Carol A. Lyles of Greensboro, NC, two grandsons, Zak and Zarek Bell, and a beloved aunt Rose Vekasy of Cortland. Friends may call on Friday from 5-7PM and again on Saturday from 11:30AM-12:30PM. In lieu of flowers Bobs family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wickliffe Christian Church.
