Robert A. Mcdonald

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Robert McDonald, who passed away Monday morning at his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born January 26, 1929 in Struthers a son of the late Walter and Bessie (Allen) McDonald. A 1947 graduate of Struthers High School, Bob was a fitter for Youngstown Welding and Engineering. He was a member of the Austintown Community Church, enjoyed fishing, golfing, country music and his guitar. Most of all Bob enjoyed the company of the "joys of his life" his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Barbara Taft, whom he married September 2, 1950; two daughters: Janey (Jack) Donadee of Canfield and Kelly (Kent) Ruble of Youngstown; two sisters: Edith (Robert) Stroup and Donna (Harold) Aebischer both of Poland; eight grandchildren: Barbara Eschelman, Jennifer Harmicar, Chenell Donadee, Jacob Donadee, Jonathan Donadee, Jesse Butler, Raymond Butler, and Michael Butler; and four great grandchildren: Lincoln, Alyssa, Madison, and Brandon. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son Timothy "Corky" McDonald; and a sister Betty MacKondy. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their loving car of Bob.
