Robert Duane Christen

Robert Duane Christen, age 75, of Cortland, died on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren. He was born on March 16, 1936, in Newton Falls, a son of the late Miles Wayne Christen and the late Estella Brown Christen. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army and had worked at Keystone Steel in Niles. He is survived by a son, Duane Christen and a daughter, Nancy Christen, both of Cortland. Also surviving are two sisters, Peggy McElwee of Canfield and Debbie Page of Tennessee. His wife, Georgianna Scherer Christen, whom he married on April 29, 1957, preceded him in death on October 3, 2010. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 6PM 7PM at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland. Funeral services will be held Sunday evening at 7PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
