Robert E Allen

Robert E. Allen of Warren passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 12:12 a.m. at Grace Woods Senior Living in Niles. He was 78 years old. Mr. Allen was born on October 7, 1931 in Fairview, Michigan the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Moser) Allen and graduated from Rootstown High School. Mr. Allen retired from Republic Steel where he worked as a data processor for 30 years. He was a member of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Niles and enjoyed playing horseshoes in which he won many tournaments, bowling, gambling and fishing. Mr. Allen is survived by two daughters Tammi (John) Penman of Warren and Sherri (John) Tinney of Wilmington, NC; two nieces Patty (Amico) Mariana and Judy Capriano; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Julia R. "Judy" Allen, whom he married on March 23, 1977 and she passed away on November 27, 2002; two sisters and four brothers. A Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. in the Roberts Clark Funeral Chapel, where family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Braceville Township Cemetery followed by a gathering of family and friends until 3:00 p.m. at Tammi and John Penman's residence in Warren. The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Mr. Allen's name to the American Diabetes Association.
