GIRARDServices celebrating the life of Robert Stoll will be held at 11:30 am Thursday at Pleasant Valley Church in Niles. Robert went to be with his Lord at Imogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington W. VA. after at two year long heroic battle with cancer Robert was born August 12, 1925 in Niles the son of the late Orrie and Lucille Stoll. He is preceded in death by his loving spouse, Arlene Stoll who passed January 31, 1993, and a son Chitti Stoll who passed February 12, 1995. Robert is survived by his loving spouse Siromani Stoll of Girard, Ohio, daughters: Karen (Bob) Indermuhle of Sardis, Ohio, Kathi (John) Creed of Niles, Beverly (Jim) Porter of Ellsworth, son Dr. Syam Gwen) Stoll of Huntington W.Va., daughter Jyothi Stoll of Jupiter, FL., seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and extended family in Ohio and West Virginia.In his early years he experienced The Great Depression with his family. He lived a simple life in which he spent summers fishing, hunting, swimming at Mosquito Creek and Swine Creek in Trumbull County. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and married his wife Arlene Brown on July 10, 1946. He attended Bethany College and graduated from Swarthmore College with a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the US Navy active duty from October 1. 1943-1946, US Navy Reserves as Training Officer and Commanding Officer for Navy Reserve Construction Battalion Youngstown, OH, Maintenance and Utilities Officer at Oceana Naval Air Station, Defense Counsel at Oceana Naval Air Station. He retired from the US Navy in 1967. He was employed at Republic Steel where he worked as a Structural Engineer and Engineering Estimator. Some of his accomplishments include designing several towers to include the WFMJ-TV tower in Youngstown as well as towers located in Cadillac, Michigan, Enid, Oklahoma and the North Hills of Pittsburgh. He later became employed for Richwood Industries as an Engineer with Sales and Product Installation for coal and salt mines in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Nova Scotia. He was also the Minister of The Lord's Chapel, Niles from 1972-2000 where he faithfully served and baptized many downtrodden and troubled souls. He started To Every Creature Society-TEC (1978-1982) which was the result of being called to serve as a missionary to India. To this date he has traveled over 30 times to India to pursue a lifelong passion and dedication to the destitute, poor people of Andra Pradesh, India. During the early days, he became immersed in the Indian Culture, living on bare necessities, learning the tradition, food, language and customs of the Indian Culture. In 1982, TEC became the Indian Crusade and the ministry continued to grow as faithful supporters from the US supported his tireless work in India. Robert traveled to US Churches to share his lively encounters with the Indian people he met and to share the unique and life changing experiences that touched the hearts of so many poor pastors and Indian children. Siromani was a natural for his work who helped tremendously in communications and executing of projects within the Indian culture. He served in capacity with his spouse Siromani dutifully and with great integrity and compassion to help establish 40 churches and 6 children homes supporting 500 children each year. His work in India continues due to a partnership with Lifesong for Orphans as overseers of his work. His interests included harmonica playing, camping, poetry, gardening and history. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of NRA, and served as president and chaplain of the Myastenia Gravis Chapter of Mahoning Co. He was a strong supporter of the Republican Party in Trumbull Co. and a member of Pleasant Valley Church in Niles where served as an Elder. Robert was known for his selfless ways, servitude and love for people, cheerful and positive demeanor, his humor and a faithful friend. Family and friends may call from 9:30am until 11:30 am Thursday at Pleasant Valley Church where services will begin at 11:30 am.
