Robert J Pinkerton

AUSTINTOWN-Robert J. Pinkerton, 83, loving husband, father, and grandfather, departed peacefully for his heavenly home Monday, January 14, 2008 at 5:20PM in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Health Center. Bob was born August 17, 1924 in Girard, OH the son of the late William and Clara (Rocky) Pinkerton. Bob retired from US Steel and was a member of Christ Church in Boardman. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Bob served in World War II in the Asiatic, Pacific Area from March 11, 1945 to April 9, 1946.He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged on April 18, 1946. Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing all types of cards, most of all poker. Bob is survived by his wife the former Patricia A. (Dull) Pinkerton, whom he married November 17, 1943; a daughter Dianne Williams of Austintown; a daughter-in-law Suzanne L. Pinkerton of Canfield; a sister Alma Williams of Girard; five grandchildren Stephanie (Joe) Kunovich of Strongsville, Elizabeth Pinkerton of Strongsville, Rebecca (Mark) Fabian of Springfield, MO, Matthew Pinkerton of Sarasota, Fl, and Robert A. Williams III of Austintown; and six great grandchildren Braedon Fabian, Peyton Hulburt, Alexis and Grace Kunovich, Joelle Fabian, and Thalia Fabian. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son Robert J. Pinkerton Jr.; two brothers William and Richard Pinkerton; and a sister Katherine Miller. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 5 until 7 PM in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30AM Friday, January 18, 2008.
