Robert James Klingensmith

Robert James Klingensmith Jr., age 64, of Cortland, OH., died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at 11:15 PM, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 3, 1943 in Warren, OH., the son of the late Robert J. Klingensmith Sr. and the late Martha R. (Nobel) Klingensmith. A Cortland resident for over 38 years, coming from Vernon, OH., Mr. Klingensmith had worked most of his life as a mechanic. In 2006, he retired from Waste Management where he was working as a diesel mechanic. Robert enjoyed the outdoors and especially working in the yard with his wife Mary Ann. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, basketball and NASCAR. However, Robert may best be remembered as a man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Klingensmith whom he married in January 1982. One son, Robert (Dianna) Klingensmith of Lillington, NC. Six daughters, Theresa (Ray) Hunt of Baton Rouge, LA., Annette (Charlie) Klingensmith of Leavittsburg, OH., Debbie (Larry) Rannow of Winterhaven, FL., Terry Lynn (Richard) Upshire of Kinsman, OH., Michele (Bruce) Blough of Smithville, OH., and Melissa Hall of Smithville, OH. One brother, Wayne (Cathy) Klingensmith of Vernon, OH. Three sisters, Sharyon Bancroft of Vernon, OH., Lockie (Randy) Philbrick of Jamestown, PA., and Jacky (Joe) Dailye of Jamestown, PA. Also surviving are twenty three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, 164 North High Street, Cortland, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Funeral service will be at Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 20, 2007, where the family will again receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio.
