A memorial service will be held 6 PM Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Robert James “Tiger” McCutcheon, 79 of Craig Beach who passed away Tuesday evening in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Tiger was born September 17, 1927 in Lake County, PA, the son of Walter E. and Effie (Wire) McCutcheon. He worked as a truck driver with Packaging Corporation of America retiring in 1984 and then worked for the Canfield Fair Grounds in the Maintenance Department for the past 17 years. He also had worked for Freedman Transfer as a truck driver. Tiger was a Baptist in faith, a former member of the Joseph Lane Bowling Team, and a member of the Teamster Truck Driver Union. He was also a former baseball coach and had raced and competed in several motorcycle events. Robert also was an avid fisherman. His wife, the former Martha J. Holcomb whom he married February 2, 1952, passed away June 3, 2001. He leaves one son Robert James McCutcheon Jr. of Lake Milton, five grandchildren: 4 from his son Randy and one from his son Bobby. Besides his wife and parents, Tiger is preceded in death by a son Randy McCutcheon. Family and friends may call from 5 to 6 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street Boardman, Ohio 44512.
