Robert Joseph Simmons

Austintown Chapel AUSTINTOWN: Robert Joseph Simmons, age 89 of Austintown passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio, following an extended illness. Robert was born June 15, 1925 in South Fork, Pennsylvania to parents; John and Rachael (Cummings) Simmons. Robert married Betty Nestor on February 12, 1955, and together they had two children. They were blessed with 38 years of marriage until Betty passed away on September 6, 1993. Robert worked with Steel Door as a dye setter for 43 years, retiring in 1987. He attended Austintown Baptist Church and was a member of the Chatter Box club. Survivors include his children; Debra (Herbert) Rothwell, Cheyenne, WY, Robert Simmons, Jr., Austintown, Ohio, three sisters; Ruth Myers, Arizona, Mary Lou Deitle, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren; Andrew and Michael Rothwell. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers; John, Paul, Bill Simmons, sisters; Margaret Flederback and Dorothy May Schrift. Robert knew Jesus and is happy to be with him now. Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel have been entrusted with the arrangements.
