Robert L. Burkett, Sr.

There will be a funeral service 11 AM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Robert L. Burkett, Sr., of Canfield, who passed away Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Bob was born July 30, 1938, in Warren a son of the late Dutch and Hazel M. (Shirk) Burkett. He currently was employed as a truck driver and equipment operator for Canfield Township. Before working for the township, he was employed as a bus driver for the Canfield Board of Education for 32 years. Bob was a member of the Mahoning Valley Pony Breeders, the American Haflinger Association, and was Past President of the Bus Drivers Association. Bob served for six years in the Army National Guard of Ohio. Bob is survived by his wife the former Doris J. Schrum, whom he married October 6, 1962 three children: Deborah E. (John) Paine of Berlin Center, Robert L. (Heather) Burkett Jr. of Canfield and David J. (Jennifer) Burkett of Stow; one sister Evelyn A. (Norman) Yocum of Greenford and four grandchildren: Jake, Megan, Trevor, and Taylor. Friends may call from 2 PM until 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
