Robert L. Moffett

Robert L. Moffett, 83, Howland Twp. died 7:40 AM Monday July 16, 2007 at Community Skilled Health Care Center following a short illness. He was born April 18, 1924 in Rochester, PA the son of Clark and Olive (Corless) Moffett. He was a graduate of the Pittsburgh School of the Deaf and has been a Warren area resident for most of his life. Robert was employed by Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Wycoft Steel Corp. of Rochester, PA, Van-Huffel Tube Corp. and was a self employed salesman for many years. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Club of the Deaf, the Akron Club of the Deaf, the Rochester, PA Club of the Deaf, the Youngstown Club of the Deaf, and the Warren Club of the Deaf where he was athletic director for several years. He also attended the North-Mar Church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Preceding him in death in 1994 was his wife Jean (Bentley) Moffett whom he married June 28, 1946, a daughter Linda Moffett-Wagner, and a brother Glen (“Sonny) Moffett. Survivors include 3 sons Clifford L. (Debbie) Moffett of Howland Twp., Robert L. (Barbara) Moffett of Warren, Thomas W. Moffett of Howland, and a daughter Sandra D. (Bruce) Battista of South Carolina. Also surviving are grandchildren David Jones, Catherine Kramp, Diane Moffett, Jeff Moffett, Lisa Moffett, Christine Bowersox, Jonathon Moffett, Sarah Moffett, Jennifer Moffett, Brian Battista, Joseph Battista, Nicholas Battista, Julia Hefner, Kevin Faber, Brad Faber, great grandchildren Kameron and Kyralin Kramp, a sister Evelyn (Gene) Castellan of Monaca, PA and sisters-in-law Dodi Moffett of Beaver Falls, PA, and Joann Swartz of Hermitage, PA. Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday July 19, 2007 at the Pineview Memorial Park Chapel 4049 Youngstown Rd. SE Warren where friends will be received for 1 hour prior to the services. Rev. Myron Daum will officiate. The family suggests material contributions be made to Community Skilled Health Care Center 1320 Mahoning Ave. NW Warren, OH 44483 Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements.
