Robert Leroy Flynn

Robert LeRoy "Bob" Flynn, age 77 of Howland Township, died of an extended illness at 3:52 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. Our husband, father, grandfather and friend to many has gone to fly with the angels in Heaven. Bob was born April 4, 1933 in Warren, the son of the late James and Ruby Dillon Flynn. Bob was a 1951 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, attended Kent State University and served in the U.S. Air Force for 36 years as an aircraft mechanic and crew chief. He retired April 1993 as a Master Sergeant and C130 crew chief at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station. He enjoyed airplanes and collecting angel figurines. He loved attending church at the Harvest Christian Assembly of God Church in Howland. Bob is survived by his wife, Janet A. Lane Flynn, whom he married June 2, 1998; his children, Ed J. (Valerie) Flynn of Harrisburg, Pa., Debbie K. Biggs of Nampa, Idaho, Luan M. (Alan) Adams and Warren Lee Flynn both of Anderson, Ind. and Paul Michael (Tricia) Flynn Carr of Pueblo, Colo.; one stepson, Donald (Sharon) Wiseman of Plant City, Fla. and one stepdaughter, Tammy (Dean) Gmucs of Warren; 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and one brother, Paul M. Flynn of Phoenix. Besides his parents, one sister, Anna Meehan also preceded him in death. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m.Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday, with Pastor Ron Biehl officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, where military honors will be observed.
