ROBERT PAUL “HAM” HAMILTON Robert Paul “Ham” Hamilton of 129 Valley Circle, Warren, Ohio, formerly of Brookfield, died at 9:15 PM Tuesday at Northside Medical Center, Youngstown after an extended illness. He was 82. Mr. Hamilton was born in Shady Side, Ohio on June 19, 1923, a son of Patsy and Delma (Clark) Hamilton. After graduating from Brookfield High School in 1941, “Ham” went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Corporal during WWII. Bob worked for Wean-United, Youngstown, retiring in 1982 after 40 plus years of service. He also was the Owner/Operator of Pet Caskets Sales, Brookfield. His memberships included Bazetta Christian Church; former member Paynes Corner Christian Church, where he was a former Chairman of the Church Board as well as a former Elder & Deacon; Past Master, 2 different terms, of Jerusalem Lodge #19 F&AM, Hartford, where he served as Secretary from 1967-1987 and then was elected Secretary Emeritus, receiving his 50 year pin in 1998, there he also worked on the Degree Team and later became Chaplain for 7 years; Order of the Eastern Star #518, Hartford; 50 year member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Youngstown; Life Member of Aut Mori Grotto, Life Member of Al Koran Shrine; 50 year member of the Youngstown & Trumbull Shrine Clubs; Life Member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 11, Warren; Mosquito Lake Power Squadron Lt. Commander; Past District Flag Lt. of District 11th United States Power Squadron teaching free safe boating classes to students; Brookfield Voluntary Fire Department; and Trumbull County Retirees Assoc. He also served as representative from Jerusalem Lodge to the Ohio Masonic Home Endowment Fund; and was on the Martin Smith Welfare Assoc. for 23 years. In addition, Bob volunteered as a driver for the Brookfield Senior Citizens Van and transporting crippled children to the Shrine hospital. Survivors include: wife, Helen J. (O’Malley) Hamilton, whom he married April 5, 1986; 3 stepchildren, Wayman Phillips, Cape Coral, FL, Barbara Gleason, Fowler, OH, and Rose Leeworthy, Davenport, FL; 9 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his first wife, Audrey L. (Price) Hamilton, in 1983, they married 10-7-61. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, with Rev. Jeffrey Wheeler, Pastor. Calling hours will be from 4-7 PM Friday with a Masonic Service to be held at 6:45 PM. Burial will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery, with military honors by the American Legion, Cortland.
