Roberta Helen Pease

Roberta H. (Wood) Pease, age 88, of Cortland, Ohio, died Friday, August 31, 2007, at Lake Vista of Cortland. She was born on July 19, 1919 in Wolverine, Michigan, the daughter of the late Daniel Wood and the late Maude (Black) Wood. Mrs. Pease was a member of the McKinley Community Church and had worked at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren as an LPN for twelve years. She was a 1937 graduate of Wolverine High School in Michigan, a member of the Vienna Senior Citizens Club, the O.E.S. Opal Chapter # 181 in Cortland and the T.M.H. Retires Club. Roberta's husband, Jess L. Pease, whom she married on October 6, 1939, preceded her in death on December 18, 1981. She is survived by three sons, Jerald and his wife, Marilyn Pease of Howland, Roger and his wife Janet Pease of Cortland and Ed and his wife Janice Pease of Point Pleasant, N.J. One sister, Ruth McGirk of Flint, Michigan and one brother, Donald Wood of South Lyon, Michigan. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Jill Gross, Stacey Dues, Scott, Aaron, Jeff, David, Lauren, Jessica, Chris and Mellisa Pease, as well as nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Summerix and a brother, Fred Wood. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, 164 North High Street, Cortland, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2007.
