Rocky Dean White

Rocky Dean White, age 49, of Mecca Twp., Ohio, died Sunday, September 30, 2007. He was born on April 3, 1958 in Baltimore, MD., the son of Galford White and the late Glenogene Mae (Forinash) White. Mr. White worked as a self employed carpenter and was known as the 'town handyman'. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Glenda (Payton) White, whom he married on August 27, 1978. Two sons, Shawn (Rishelle) Dale White of Kinsman and Shane Dion White of Southington. One grandson, Nathanyel Dion White and the 'twinkle of his eye', his granddaughter, Ada Marie White. Two brothers, Roger White of Clarksburg, WV., and Robert Pluger of Elkins, WV. Two sisters, Kathy Schoonover of Elkins, WV., and Carol White of Aulander, NC. Maternal grandmother, Hallie Forinash of Elkins, WV. Rocky was adored by his mother in-law, Ada Ross of Mecca and brother in-law Larry Payton of Mecca. He was preceded in death by his brother, Galford June White. The family will receive friends at their home, 1084 Greenville Rd., Mecca Twp., on Saturday, October 6, 2007, starting at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to the family at 1084 Greenville Rd., Cortland, OH. 44410. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel.
