Roger Roy Reel Sr.

Roger Roy Reel Sr., age 70, of Bazetta, died on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at his residence. He was born on June 13, 1941 in Champion, a son of the late Fred L. Reel and the late Vivian Logan Reel. Roger grew up and spent his whole life in Bazetta and attended the Bazetta (Lakeview) Schools. He worked as a Central Office Specialist Technician for the Sprint United Telephone Company for 41 years. Roger enjoyed working on his family farmstead and spending time with his three granddaughters who he affectionately called his "Angles". He is survived by his wife, Kathryn "Kay" Kemp Reel, whom he married on October 19, 1963 and spent 48 wonderful years with; three sons, Jeremy (Lisa) Reel, Roger Reel Jr. and Randy (Deb) Reel, his three granddaughters, Miranda, Mariah and Maria and a grandson, Roger Reel III. He will be greatly and sadly missed by his family, his dogs, Clifford and Pee Wee and his pet goose Lola. Roger was preceded in death by a brother, Nelson Reel and a grandson, Ryland Reel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 5PM 7PM at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland. Per his wishes, private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Cortland.
