A Memorial Mass will be said at 10 AM Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Ronald E. Williams Sr., 65, of Austintown who passed away Wednesday morning with his family by his side at the Cleveland Clinic after a courageous 18 month battle with lung cancer. Ron was born May 8, 1946 in Akron, the son of Earl and Dorothy (Humphries) Williams. He worked for General Motors, Lordstown, as a skilled tradesman in the welding and maintenance department for 41 years. He was a graduate of Akron Central Hower High School in Akron and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1967. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and enjoyed golfing, grilling, fishing, and gardening. Most of all Ron was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time and vacationing with them. Ron leaves his loving and dedicated wife of 35 years, the former Carmy Caicco, whom he married December 18, 1976. He also leaves his mother, Dottie of Akron, four children, Tiffanie (Bradley) Soverns, Cheriese (Adam) Farkas, Candice (Thomas) Cochran and Ronald E. Williams Jr. (Fiance Dina Harris) all of Austintown, two grandchildren, Brayden and Lyla. Ron is preceded in death by his father. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel.
