Rosalynd Sarah Gilmour

Rosalynd Sarah Gilmour of Warren passed away September 26, 2010 at Shepherd of Valley in Howland, where she had been a resident the last five years. Born on February 28, 1920 in Warren, she is the daughter of Arthur J. and Elizabeth (MacAvoy) Gilmour. A lifetime area resident, she graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in 1941. She was a Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Trumbull Memorial Hospital retiring in 1985 after 30 years of service. She was a life member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and of St. James Catholic Church. One of her favorite activities was traveling. She is survived by one sister, Jean Streitferdt of Howland, her Goddaughter and niece, Joan Foy of Warren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marion Chapman, and three brothers Winfield, Joseph and Walter Gilmour. A mass of Christian burial will be 11am Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church, Warren with Father Charles W. Crumbley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30am Wednesday until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be St. Mary's Cemetery, Warren.
