Rose R. Carnes, 93, died May 2005, of Alzheimer's disease at John XXIII Home, Hermitage, PA, formerly of Brookwood Dr., Brookfield. She was born Rosina Emma Buol, May 6, 1912 in Green County, WI, the daughter of Jacob A. and Maria Hammerly Buol, and came to the area in 1947. She traveled to all 50 states, Switzerland, Mexico and the Panama Canal with her husband, spent may winters at her Florida home, bowled with the Hickory Bowling League, knit and crocheted sweaters and afghans for her family, loved dancing and playing cars, worked at the PX at the Vienna Air Force Case, sang with the Brookfield Mother Singers, and taught crafts at the County Extension Service. She was a member of the Brook Village Seniors and the Brookfield United Methodist Church. Her husband, Charles M. Carnes, whom she married July 4, 1936, died July 3, 1993. She is survived by three daughters Lois M. Werner (Clyde, Brookfield, Kay E. Poirot (Ken), Northport, NY and Bonnie Tarian (Andy), Hubbard; 1 sister, Lena Nevel of Brooklyn, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren, Linda Deem, Brian Werner, Brenda Martin, Marsha Nashtock, Kendra Burgess, Keri and Kenneth Poirot and ten great-grandchildren, Heather, Kelly, and Joseph Brant, Briana Werner, Jacob and Katelin Martin, Amanda and Michael Nashtock, Mason and Kennedy Burgess. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Walter, Gabriel and Jacob Buol, and 3 sisters, Katherine Christen, Marie Schupach and Ida Toltzien. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005, at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, OH with Rev. Dennis Bewley of the Brookfield Methodis Church presiding. Burial was at Crownhill Burial Park, Vienna, OH.
