ROSELINE F. PEPPER, 90 CANFIELD-Roseline F. Pepper, 90, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Briarfield Manor, Austintown. Roz was born May 2, 1924 in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Katherine (Myslinski) Rucinski. She moved to this area in 1958 where she wrote a weekly column, "Coffee Time" for the Girard News and covered various social events including the interviewing of various dignitaries that visited the area. Eventually she became editor of the local paper and was promoted to editor for the Niles Daily Times. Additionally, Roz was a legal secretary for various law firms in the area and retired as the secretarial supervisor for the Industrial Commission for the State of Ohio. Working with the Girard Homecoming Committee was one of Roz's early passions. She held the positions of secretary, co-chair (1965) and chair (1966). She continued her involvement until the committee disbanded a couple of years ago. In 1967, Roz was the first woman to be named honorary Rotarian by the Girard Rotary Club. Roz loved to knit, was an avid reader, and enjoyed her flower gardens. Roz is survived by Alfred L. Pepper whom she married June 29, 1942, her son, Rodney W. Pepper of Willow Springs, N.C. and daughter, Marsha G. Kuite of Boardman as well as her grandchildren, Mark (Amy) Kuite and Michelle R. Pepper; Jared Kuite her great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Roz was preceded in death by her brother Bill Rucinski and sister, Florence McCann. Family and friends may call on Monday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel, 65 North Broad Street, Canfield from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Prayers will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Parish, 300 North Broad Street, Canfield.
