Niles- Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Niles for Rowland Hicks who died Sunday morning in Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Rowland was born June 11, 1937 in Central City, Pa., the son of Joseph and Alice Mae (Bostock) Hicks. Rowland retired from the Warren YMCA where he had worked for 17 years, prior to working at the YMCA he had been employed for over 20 years for U.S. Steel McDonald Works. He was a member of the church, Moose Lodge in Niles where he bowled in the Moose League and was a great fisherman. Rowland also served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evelyn (Marks) whom he married April 1, 1961, children; Jim (Michelle) of Dunnellon, Fl., Joe of Niles and Jerri Lyn (Jason) Albright of Howland. He is also survived by grandchildren; Corey, Tyler, Allison, Samantha and brother James in IL. Rowland was preceded in death by his parents and son Baby Joey. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Rowland’s name.
