Roy D. Gibson, 82, passed away Sunday evening, January 11, 2015 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. Roy was born on December 25, 1932 in Alexandria, Virginia the son of Ray Gibson and Stella Ada (Zinn) Gibson. He was a United States veteran, serving in the U.S Army during the Korean War at Fort Knox. While in the Army and during his younger years he enjoyed to box. Roy was a truck driver for over twenty six years. He started a Bible Study called New Believers in Christ. Roy loved to collect model trains, wood working, fishing, playing guitar, mandolin, keyboards, and accordions. He also loved to video tape and take photos of his family. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Stella (Carpenter) Gibson, whom he married on August 7, 1958; seven children, Shirley A. Pine of Niles, Nancy (Don) Harney of Howland, LeRoy (Sherry) Gibson of Howland, Linda L. (James) Eckenrod of Howland, Nanette L. (Darion) Parish of Howland, Raymond D. Gilcher of WV, and Wanda Lou Cottrill of WV; twenty two grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, and one brother, Ralph Gibson of Girard. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings, Esse, Jesse Edward, John, Wanda, Wanita, Jeb, Darlene, and Pea Jack. Funeral services for Roy will be held on Thursday January 15, 2014 at 12:00PM at Lane Family Funeral Homes Roberts Clark Chapel in Warren. Family and friends may visit from 4-8:00PM on Wednesday January 14, 2014 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Niles Union Cemetery in Niles.
