AUSTINTOWN- Ruddy E. John, 70 years old, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 surrounded by his family at home. He was born in Youngstown, OH on November 14, 1943 to the late Clarence E. and Betty Rose (Ruddy) John. Ruddy was a 1961 South High School graduate. He went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Ruddy worked for GM for 30 years before retiring in 2000. Ruddy was loved by everyone he met. He enjoyed motorcycles, Corvettes, wood working, and cutting the grass. Fishing was always a top priority along with watching TV. But nothing compared to the love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren. Left to mourn Ruddy's passing is his loving wife of 16 years, Gloria John; his daughter and son-in-law, Alethea and James Bryan Giles; his grandchildren, Akira Back, and Raina, Narana, and Alaura Giles; his sister, Carol McShane; and his sister-in-law, Marlene Tincher. Ruddy is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Fred John. The family will receive friends from 4PM-7PM on Thursday, January 30 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave, where a funeral service will take place on Friday, January 31, at 11AM. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
