There will be a funeral service 7 PM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for Russell H. Bequeath who passed away Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Russell was born January 22, 1914 in McDonald a son of the late Harry and Rachael (Richards) Bequeath and was a lifelong resident of Weathersfield Township. A 1933 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School, Russell was a brakeman and conductor for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad for 37 years all in the Niles Yard. He was a bee keeper for over 50 years and a member of the Mahoning Valley Bee Keepers Association. Russell farmed his own land, did construction work, and loved fishing and hunting. He was a life member of the Eastern Ohio Conservation Club. He helped to build the First Assembly of God Church in Girard where he was a longtime member and deacon. His first wife Ellen Purbaugh and second wife Jean Cook precede Russell in death. He is survived by four children: Dorothy (Charles) Kovy of Mineral Ridge, Russell (Elda) Bequeath Jr. of Vienna, Margaret (James) Mallog of Austintown, and Clifford (Joanne) Bequeath of Niles; two sisters: Charlotte Daniels of Champion and Eunice Richley of Austintown; two brothers: Adam and Ellis Bequeath both of McDonald; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a step grandson. Besides his parents and wives, Russell is preceded in death by two brothers Garfield and Homer.
