MINERAL RIDGE: Russell Palmer, age 69 of Mineral Ridge passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Main Campus, Youngstown. Russell was born on September 11, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents; Wilbur E. and Kathryn (Chaykowski) Palmer. Russell served his country in the Army National Guard. He married Diane Giampapa on September 10, 1966 and together they had two wonderful children. Russell worked as an Assembler for Caterpillar in Pontiac, Illinois retiring in 1997. He was a member of the American Legion in Orwell, and a life-time member of H.O.G., Russell was an avid fisherman and loved camping. Survivors include his wife; Diane, daughter; Jeannette (David) Postlethwait-Chicoine, Mineral Ridge, grandson; Robbie Postlethwait, sister; Barbara (Leo) Wright, Rome, Ohio. Russell is preceded in death by his parents, and his son; Billy. A celebration of Russell's life will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 10-11am at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel. Interment will take place at Morgan Union Cemetery in Rock Creek, Ohio.
