Ruth Fisk McGaughy, 89, of Champion Twp. died at 7:50PM Friday Jan.23, 2009 at Community Skilled Care Health Center following a short illness. She was born in Champion Twp. on Aug.20, 1919 a daughter of Rolland S. and Nellie (Dawkins) Fisk and was a life long resident of Trumbull County . Ruth was a graduate of Vernon High School and was a member of the Champion Presbyterian Church where she was a deaconess and belonged to the Deborah Circle . She formerly belonged to the Champion American Legion Auxiliary, and currently belongs to the Southington VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts. Her husband, Donald C. McGuaghy whom she married Mar.15, 1941 preceded her in death Oct.27, 1998. She also was preceded in death by a son Ray McGaughy, a daughter Kathleen Kinnison, 2 brothers Robert and Wayne Fisk and a sister Mary Denman. Survivors include a son Dennis (Maxine) McGaughy of Warren, daughter Jane (Larry) Thompson of Dempseytown, PA, 5 grandchildren- Sandra (Michael) Johnson of In diana polis, IN, Doug las (Andi) Kinnison of Tucson, Christine (Scott) Young of Summerville, SC, Nicholas (Jonelle) Thompson and Randall (Kandi) Thompson both of Oil City, PA, 12 great Grandchildren, and a sister Grace L. Sutton of Brookfield. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Tuesday Jan.27, 2009 at Champion Presbyterian Church. Rev. Richard Ferris will officiate. Frienda will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Monday at Roberts-Clark Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Park . Material contributions may be made to the Champion Presbyterian Church.
