Ruth B Cramblett

April 20, 1926 — December 14, 2015

Private services were held at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Ruth Bell Cramblett, 89. She passed away with her family by her side Monday, December 14, 2015 at Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living in Barberton, Ohio. Ruth was born April 20, 1926 In St. Clairsville, Ohio, the daughter of William John Carney Kissel and Sarah Alvina (Hayes) Kissel. She was a 1944 graduate of Newcomerstown, Ohio High School. In November 1949, Ruth married U.S. Marine Sergeant Kenneth C. Cramblett, who passed away in 1993. After starting their family at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, they settled and raised their family in Cadiz, Ohio. In Cadiz, Ruth was dedicated to her family, community, and the Scott Memorial United Methodist Church where she served on the administrative council, Sunday school faculty, and women's executive board. Ruth also volunteered at the Harrison Community Hospital, was a member of the Cadiz Junior Women's Club, Cadiz Civic Club, and was a long time holiday bell ringer for the Salvation Army. She would spend hours writing personal notes of thanks, congratulations and regrets to those who would least expect them, and spent many Sundays visiting shut-ins. In her later years, Ruth fostered a family culture of encouragement, resilience and foresight, especially in support of her grandchildren, Samantha, John, Elizabeth, Michael, and Matthew. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Tom) Mock of Austintown; Karen (Mike) Culp of Manchester, Ohio; grandchildren John T. Mock of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Elizabeth Culp of Cleveland; Michael and Matthew Culp of Manchester; sister Linda (Rodney) McCormick of West Lafayette, Ohio; and brother, John Kissel of Newcomerstown, OH. Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by sisters Martha Miller, Etta Mae Parish and her granddaughter, Samantha Jean Mock of Austintown on July 23, 2000. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living, Lane Funeral Home and all those who have kindly offered their regrets and support in so many ways. The family asks if you could remember Ruth, Samantha and your own family's lost loved ones with a thought, prayer and kind gesture of generosity over the Holiday Season.
