Ruth Etta Lawson, age 77, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at her home. Ruth was born at home in Braceville, Ohio on December 2, 1935 to the late, Irwin and Lenora (Grinter) Haney. On December 17, 1957 Ruth married her husband, Charles Lawson and they spent 55 years together. Ruth was a part of the Women of the Moose chapter 644 and served as a past Girl Scout leader. When her children were young and played baseball she enjoyed cheering them on not only as their mother but at their coach. Ruth loved bocci, bowling, fishing, swimming, garage sales, shopping for bargains and going to the casino. Ruth is survived by her husband, Charles Lawson; children, Herbert Lawson, April (Donald) Rader, and Douglas Kilgore; grandchildren, Alexis, Haylee, Herbie, Shanna, Nicholas, Sonia, Douglas and Brian; great grandchildren, Jaida, Landon, Alaina, Madison and McKensie; sister, Violet (Ralph) Gellispie; daughter-in-law, Nancy and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; son, Craig Kilgore and grandson, Craig Allan. Services for Ruth will be on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel (180 Garfield Drive NE) at 11:00am. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Burial will be at the Braceville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth to the St. Josephs Cancer Care Center.
