Ruth Frayer

NILES-Ruth Frayer, 79, of Niles, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 1AM in her daughter's home. Ruth was born August 30, 1928 in North Apollo, Pa the daughter of the late Marlin and Sadie (Munson) Shriver. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge. She was an avid Steelers fan, an annual ticket taker for the Niles Red Dragon Football Games; was a Cancer Survivor for the Niles Relay for Life in 1998; she received the Niles Relay for Life 2008 Spirit Award this past weekend and the Niles Relay for Life Ray of Life Award. Ruth enjoyed working part time at Lasting Impressions by Stacy in McDonald. Ruth was married on June 7, 1946 to Charles Harry Frayer and they were married for 51 years until his passing on February 23, 1997. Ruth is survived by two daughters Bonnie (Charles) Jorza of Niles and Kathryn (Thomas) Held of Spring Church, PA; a son Brian (Linda) Frayer of Mineral Ridge; two brothers Arlie Vern Shriver of Niles and Robert Elliot (Mable) Shriver of Lordstown; six grandchildren Christine (Bruce) Estes, Gregory (Kim) Rearic, Thomas (Kim) Held, Stacy (Kevin) Fonderlin, Jennifer Frayer, and David Frayer; and ten great grandchildren Emily and Morgan Estes, Joshua and Katelyn Rearic, Ryan and Samuel Held, and Baileigh Dafft, and Aaron, Andrew, and Addison Fonderlin. Besides her parents, and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by five sisters Edna Isabelle Held, Dollie Alberta Held, Dorothy Marie Bowser, Hazel Clark, and Fonda June; and three brothers Marlin Earl Shriver, James Merle, and George Thomas. Calling hours for Ruth will be on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 from 5 until 8 PM in the Lane Funeral Home Niles Chapel 415 Robbins Ave, Niles. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 10:30AM in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark F. Phillips, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Mineral Ridge, officiating. Interment will follow in Kerr Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials in Ruth's name be made to Forum Health At Home Hospice 8747 Squires Lane NE, Warren, OH 44484.
