Ruth K Jacobs

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel for Ruth K. Jacobs (nee Aaron) 89 of North Lima formerly of Austintown and Youngstown, passed away, at Assumption Village Monday, October 17, 2011. Ruth was born November 8, 1921 in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Margaret Redfern Aaron. Ruth was a homemaker who for a time ran a bakery out of her home, specializing in birthday and wedding cakes. She was a member of Christ Church Presbyterian. She volunteered with the Society for the Blind and the Battered Women of Youngstown. She was an avid Bowler, bowling on teams with her daughters at both Camelot and Wedgewood Lanes. She and her husband took great joy from traveling in their motor home. She also enjoyed crafts of all kinds, most recently water color painting. Ruth is survived by daughter Jeanne (Eric) Sucher of Columbiana, six grandchildren John (Paola) Shook, Susan (Gary) Farkas, Dyan Bailey, Daniel Sucher, Kathy (Matt) Higgins and David Sucher and 4 great grandchildren Sydney, Lila, Liam and Aidan. Other survivors include her sister Mary (Bob) Zimmerman of Boardman and special friends Jerry, Carol, Jim, Julie Annie, Colin and Alexis. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by husband of 59 years John F., daughter Joanne Shook, sister Sara Hoffman and brothers Robert and William Aaron. Friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Assumption Village for the love, care and support they offered Ruth.
