BROOKFIELD- Ruth M. Belik, 91, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at St. John XXIII Home in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. She was born on March 26, 1924 in Sharon, PA to the late, Angelo Joseph and Jean (Mines) Vaia. She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1942. She was a member of Brookfield United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Sharon General Hospital for many years. Ruth retired from Packard Electric in 1986. She is survived by her son, Martin (Palma) Belik of Brookfield, and daughter, Karen (Robert) Bathory of Masury; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth Small, Christine (Jeremy) O'Conner, Nicole Zambon and Nick (Allison) Belik; 4 great grandchildren, Summer (Levi) Funk, Eric Hudson, Nicholas and Corbin O'Conner and 1 great-great grandchild, Connor Funk; niece, Kathy Billen; and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 65 years, Nicholas on September 30, 2010; sisters, Rosemary Laskovics and Jean Turose and brother, Ed Vaia. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00PM at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield, Ohio. The funeral will be held at the funeral home at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Burial will follow at Brookfield Township Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to Sharon Regional Health System Hospice and to John XXIII Home for the care and compassion given to their mother.
