Ruth Margaret Darby

Ruth M. (Boyle) Darbey, age 87, of Howland Township died Tuesday morning, January 20, 2009, at her home. She was born May 14, 1921 in Niles the daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret (Dennis) Boyle. Ruth attended Niles Wesleyan Methodist Church and was a homemaker all of her life. She loved playing badminton and volleyball. She was an avid sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. She enjoyed playing cards and bowling. Ruth enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas to visit her son. She is survived by four children, David L. Darbey of Howland, Ruth A. (Richard) Bunker of Champion Twp., Linda L. Douglas of Newton Falls and Jim E. Darbey of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and two sisters, Avis Amoline and Margaret McGowan both of Champion. Her husband, David J. Darbey, whom she married July 16, 1939, preceded her in death on December 30, 2003. One sister, Norma Fabec and three brothers, Ralph, Paul and Art Boyle also preceded in death. Arrangements are being handled by Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service at 10:30 am Saturday, January 24, 2009 . Burial will be at Howland Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
