Ruth P Kerr

YOUNGSTOWN- Ruth P. (Battle) Kerr, 49, passed away on October 31, 2013 after an extended illness. She was born on August 28, 1964 to the late Joseph Bates and Frances (Warg) Bates Ruth was an administrative assistant at Turning Point Counseling Services for 17 years before taking an early retirement. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Left to mourn Ruth's passing is her husband, Lester Kerr; mother, Frances Bates; daughter, Rachel Battle; grandsons, Ethan and Kaiden; sisters, Fran (P.J.) Prest and Annell Bates; brother, Joe (Wendy) Battle; mother-in-law, Gloria Pecchia; sister-in-law, Paula (Randy) Groves; brother-in-laws, Joe Lederman and P.J. (Angie) Kerr; and her nieces and nephews, Jesse, Angel, Melody, Randy Paul, Randalyn, Reanna, Samantha, and Erika. Ruth is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Bates, and her father-in-law, Mike Pecchia. The family will receive friends from 5PM-7PM at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel on Monday, November 4, where a funeral service will follow at 7PM.
